Join the Montgomery Community Band and keep the joy of music in your life. Our ensemble brings together more than 50 musicians from across the community, welcoming players of all skill levels—from those who played years ago to experienced performers. Rehearsing on Sunday evenings, we perform 4 engaging concerts per year and share the gift of live music with our community.

Do I need to audition to join?
No audition is required. The band welcomes musicians of all skill levels who enjoy playing in an ensemble.
What if I haven’t played my instrument in years?
You’re not alone! Many of our members are returning musicians who picked up their instruments again after time away.
Am I good enough to join?
If you can read music and enjoy playing, you’ll fit right in. Our band includes a wide range of experience levels, and we strive to create a supportive and welcoming environment for everyone.
Do I need my own instrument?
Most members bring their own instrument, but if you’re interested in joining and need help finding one, we may be able to help point you in the right direction. Percussion equipment is provided.
When are rehearsals?
We rehearse on select Sunday evenings from 7:00–8:30 PM at Lake Creek High School.
What kind of music does the band perform?
Our concerts feature a variety of music including movie soundtracks, popular favorites, marches, and classic band works.
How many musicians are in the band?
The band includes more than 50 musicians from across the community, creating a full and exciting concert band sound.
Are there any fees to join?
No. The band does not charge membership fees. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we rely on donations to support music purchases, rehearsal space, and concert expenses. Donations from band members, family, friends, and community supporters are always welcome.
Are performances open to the public?
Yes! Our concerts are free and open to the community as part of our mission to share live music with local audiences.
Do I need to live in Montgomery to join?
No. Musicians from across the surrounding communities are welcome.
